Introduction

Welcome to straitPay the smart, secure way to send and receive money internationally.
These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the straitPay website, mobile application, and related services (“Services”). Please read them carefully. By using our platform, you agree to these Terms.

Who We Are

straitPay is a digital payment platform operated by SP Sahara Tech Limited, with address at 20 Park Lane, Apapa, Lagos, Nigeria

Our operations are conducted under the supervision of local regulators in every country where we operate. This means your transactions are carried out under recognized financial-services regulations in jurisdictions we operate in.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use our Services. By registering, you confirm that:
- You are legally capable of entering into a binding contract;
- You will use the Service only for lawful purposes; and
- All information you provide is accurate and up to date.

Using straitPay

straitPay lets you:
- access its services in jurisdictions within which our services may be provided;
- Convert currencies instantly within the app; and
- Access additional corridors as they become available.

Fees, Rates, and Limits

We believe in transparency.
- Fees: Transaction fees are displayed before you confirm a transfer. No hidden charges.
- Exchange Rates: Rates reflect live interbank market values with a small, disclosed margin.
- Limits: Your transaction and wallet limits depend on your verification level, local rules, and applicable regulatory thresholds.

We may adjust fees or limits from time to time in line with regulatory or operational requirements. Updates will be posted on the app or website.

Verification (KYC) and Compliance

To comply with laws on Anti-Money-Laundering (AML) and Counter-Terrorism Financing (CFT), we verify the identity of all users. You agree to provide valid identification documents, proof of address, and any additional information reasonably requested.

We may pause or cancel transactions where:
- Verification is incomplete,
- The source or purpose of funds is unclear, or
- Activity appears suspicious under applicable law.

Account Security

You’re responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
You are advised to use strong passwords, enable two-factor authentication, and log out after each session.

If you suspect unauthorized access, immediately email support@straitpay.com. We monitor all accounts 24/7 to detect and prevent fraud.

Service Availability

We aim to keep straitPay available around the clock, but access may occasionally be interrupted due to maintenance, network issues, or regulatory checks.
We are not liable for delays or interruptions caused by third-party systems (such as partner banks, mobile networks, or international switches).

Safeguarding of Funds

Customer funds are safeguarded in segregated trust accounts held with regulated financial institutions.

Data Protection and Privacy

We take your privacy seriously. Your data is collected and processed only as necessary to deliver our Services and meet legal obligations.

We comply with the laws within the jurisdictions within which we operate.

We may share limited information with regulated partners, banks, and compliance providers.
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Prohibited Activities

You must not use straitPay to:

  • Conduct illegal, fraudulent, or deceptive transactions;
  • Violate foreign-exchange laws or regulatory reporting requirements;
  • interfere with any other user’s use or enjoyment of the website or app
  • Facilitate gambling, scams, or prohibited goods/services;
  • Misuse personal or third-party data; or
  • Circumvent system limits or security measures.
  • We reserve the right to restrict or terminate your account if any such activity is detected.

Partnerships and Third-Party Services

straitPay works with trusted and regulated entities in several  jurisdictions. While we oversee the customer relationship, we are not responsible for any technical fault or service interruption caused by third-party infrastructure beyond our control.

Contribution standards

These standards apply to any and all material (including without limitation text, images, clips, videos, comments, posts and any underlying material) uploaded, shared or submitted to our website or app by any user (“User Contributions“), and to any interactive services associated with it. The standards apply to each part of any User Contribution as well as to its whole and you must comply with the spirit of the following standards as well as the letter. You warrant that User Contributions that you upload to the website or app comply with these standards, and you indemnify us for any breach of that warranty.

Contributions must be accurate (where they state facts); be genuinely held (where they state opinions); and/or comply with applicable laws.

Contributions must not be illegal, invasive, and/ or infringement of the rights of others.

We accept no responsibility for any statements, material (including User Contributions) or other submissions placed on our website or app by you or any third party, or for any loss or damage resulting from your breach of these contribution standards.

We reserve the right to edit or remove any material and User Contribution uploaded, shared or submitted using the website or app, for any reason whatsoever.

Notwithstanding our rights under these Terms of Use in relation to User Contributions, we do not undertake to monitor the submission or publication of User Contributions or users' use of the website and app. If you find any content on our website or app to be in any way offensive, obscene, defamatory, racist, harmful, inaccurate, unlawful, illegal, infringing of any third party rights, deceptive in any way or otherwise in breach of our contribution standards, please notify us by email at support@straitpay.com and using the subject heading “Foul Content”.

With respect to User Contributions that you upload, share or submit to our website, you grant us the royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive and fully sub-licensable right and licence to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, create derivative works from, distribute, perform and display your User Contribution worldwide and/or to incorporate it in other works in any form or media (whether now known or invented in the future, which may include other internet sites, mobile, television and/or radio) and you acknowledge that your User Contribution may be made available with advertising and/or sponsorship.

You agree to waive any moral or similar rights in any jurisdiction that you may have in and to any of the User Contribution you upload, share or submit, even if the User Contribution is modified, altered or changed in a way which is not agreeable to you.

Intellectual Property

All software, content, designs, and materials available through straitPay remain our property or that of our partners.
You may use the platform only for personal or business transactions as authorized, never for resale, duplication, or reverse engineering.

Dispute Resolution

We aim to resolve issues quickly and fairly.
If you have a complaint, contact support@straitpay.com.
If unresolved, you may refer the matter to the regulator in your jurisdiction or country. Disputes may also be settled under the applicable laws of England and Wales for cross-border matters.

Limitation of Liability

We are not liable for:
- Delays or failures caused by third-party systems or regulatory actions;
- Losses arising from your breach of these Terms or use of unofficial channels; or
- Indirect, incidental, or consequential losses.

Nothing limits our liability for fraud, or personal injury caused by our direct and proven actions.

Disclaimer

Accessing or using our website or app or its content in any way is done entirely at your own user’s risk. You will be responsible for any loss or damage to any computer, device, software, systems or data resulting directly or indirectly from the use or inability to use the website or app or its content.

Whilst we strive to ensure prompt service delivery, we are under no obligation to provide uninterrupted access to the services. We reserve the right to restrict your access to the Sservices at any time and for any reason.

We do not guarantee that the contents of this website or app will be free of errors, bugs, worms, trojans or viruses or otherwise make any representations as to the quality or accuracy or completeness of the content available on the website including, but not limited to any price quotes, stock availability data or non-fraudulent representations. You are responsible for maintaining appropriate software on your computer or device to protect you from any such errors, bugs, worms, trojans or viruses.

To the fullest extent permissible by law, we exclude any and all liability to you resulting from your use of the website or app or connected to these Terms. This exclusion includes but is not limited to any type of damages, loss of data, income or profit or loss or damage to property belonging to you or third parties arising from the use of this website or its contents.

Updates and Amendments

We may update these Terms periodically. You’ll always receive advance notice via email, app notification, or website update.
Continued use of the platform after notice means you accept the revised Terms.

Termination

We may suspend or close your account with or without notice, for non-compliance, inactivity, or other legal reasons. You may close your account anytime by contacting support@straitpay.com.
Outstanding balances will be refunded after applicable reviews and regulatory clearance.

Governing Law

For cross-border or platform-wide matters, English law applies as the residual framework.

Entire agreement

These terms are the entire agreement between us and you in relation to your use of the services, and supersede any and all prior terms, conditions, warranties or representations in respect of such use to the fullest extent permitted by law. If any term of these Terms of Use is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remainder of these Terms of Use shall remain valid and enforceable
